
AP/AR SPECIALIST
AEG Petroleum LLC, based in Amarillo, TX, is a growing family owned and operated petroleum distributor. We are looking for a highly motivated Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivables Specialist to join our team in a hybrid position and contribute to our continued success. Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous AP/AR Specialist to join our accounting team. This role will assist in managing all AP/AR functions, processing customer deposits, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, possesses strong organizational skills, and excels in providing exceptional support to both internal departments and external clients.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
Review, code and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and process payments (checks, ACH, wires) on schedule.
Maintain organized vendor files and address any billing discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable:
Post payments to customer accounts accurately.
Reconcile AR records on a routine basis
Customer Deposits:
Accurately record and apply customer deposits to appropriate accounts.
Track and monitor deposit balances to ensure accuracy.
Communicate with customers regarding deposit activity as needed.
General Accounting/Administrative:
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries as needed.
Collaborate with team members & other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Provide exceptional customer service to vendors, customers, and internal staff.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field OR equivalent experience
Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
This is an Entry Level position.
