
CREDIT & COLLECTIONS CLERK
AEG Petroleum LLC, based in Amarillo, TX, is a growing family owned and operated petroleum distributor. We are looking for a highly motivated Credit & Collections Clerk to join our Amarillo team and contribute to our continued success. Job Summary:
The Credit & Collections Clerk is responsible for supporting the customer credit and collections processes by collecting, reviewing, and verifying customer documentation, performing credit checks for new and existing customers, and assisting with accounts receivable collections efforts. This role plays a critical part in managing credit risk, ensuring compliance with company policies, and enabling timely account setup so customers can begin doing business with the company efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and process new customer credit applications and onboarding packets
Gather required documentation, including credit applications, banking information, and other supporting materials
Perform credit checks using approved credit reporting agencies and internal tools
Analyze credit reports and application information to identify risks or discrepancies
Assist with setting up customer accounts in ERP system
Communicate with customers and/or AEG Representatives to obtain missing or incomplete information in a professional and timely manner
Monitor customer accounts for past-due balances and assist with collection activities by contacting customers in a professional and timely manner
Coordinate with Sales, Accounting, and Operations to ensure smooth account setup and approval
Maintain accurate and organized customer credit files and records
Assist with periodic reviews and updates of existing customer credit accounts
Protect sensitive and confidential customer information at all times
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
1+ years of experience in credit administration, customer onboarding, accounting support or a related role preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
